Well, friends, I am officially halfway through nursing school! It is so difficult to believe that I am going into my fourth semester and seems as though it was just yesterday I was moving to Southern California to embark on this journey.
The past few weeks were overwhelming with the amount of exams and final assignments we had to complete before the semester’s end. We always ask ourselves how we will make it through the last month or so of school and yet, somehow, someway, we manage to dig deep and find a way. My roommate and I were able to slip away to San Clemente one afternoon and then to Disneyland for a few hours to escape our textbooks. We are continuing to learn that we need to set aside time for us, away from school, to decompress and just have some fun! It’s much easier said than done but I think we’re starting to get better at giving ourselves grace and time to relax!
I am leaving this semester with my heart pointed directly for pediatrics and am just so excited for what is in store for preceptorship one year from now, and for my career. I continually feel the Lord’s confirmation that this is exactly where I am supposed to be and this is the career that He has for me. This profession is just such a blessing and I am continually humbled to care for my patients and to learn from such skilled men and women. So here’s to summer and being half a nurse!
